WHAT IT IS:

Boxster Roll Bar Extension (aka “Roll Hoop Extension”)

Type 986 Boxster 2.5-liter, 2.7-liter 1997-2004

COMMENTS: 

This is our own (GSR Autosport) Boxster Roll Bar Extension designed specifically to meet the Boxster Spec (BSX) safety requirements. The tubing is made out of 1-5/8 .095 wall chrome moly steel - the same steel tubing we use for our custom cages. All welds are TIG welded and both pre/post heated to insure the best possible weld penetration and strength. Mounting hardware wall thicknesses has been increased to provide more strength. Not only is it stronger -- the bar weighs one pound less than competing products!

We have been running BSX class Boxsters since the inception of the class and this item has always seemed unnecessarily expensive. So, we re-engineered something that is lighter and uses stronger materials and manufactured it in-house to give you something a bit more affordable with as much or more safety aspects as competitive products.
